I'm that person. The one who the fear really gets to. I let my mind go there. I teeter on the edge of reality and horror in my mind. I'm not proud, I'm just saying.
For 24 hours I was gripped with fear for this little one. My worst fears have been dismissed.
Fear isn't fun. But the joy when fears are overcome surely is!
Dr. Mally in her office (look closely)
1. Numbing cream, the child did not flinch during blood draw!
2. Insurance, the foreign language.
3. Tinkle, impossible to come by until a pink popsicle is added to the equation.
4. Limping kid for 10 hours straight, walks, no runs in front of Dr.
5. Phlebotomist, who rips Band-Aid off the arm of a three-year-olds without warning.
6. Phlebotomist, who openly discusses freaking out other kids with needles.
7. Fear, when asked if I may be pregnant before entering X ray room.
(Four pregnancies in 5 years...yes, it's always a possibility.)
Your child can be on day 10 of antibiotics and then, have an allergic reaction?
The hives produced by that reaction can persist for 2-3 weeks?
Further complications from that reaction can present themselves as arthritis-like so severely that you won't recognize your own child's walk?
It's happened to this precious baby.
Loved seeing you! Loved laughing. Loved the margaritas. Loved that you don't think I look like a man. Loved that our night out was my calm before the storm.

It's snow. You live in Indiana, where it snows. It's beautiful and a gift. Cherish it, it'll be gone before you know it. Look at it through a child's eye. Go play!

Haddie- "Baby put my camera down."
Ree- "NOOOOOO" *runs away laughing*
Me- "Ree Ree do you want chicken or tacos for dinner?"
Ree- "Tacoooos." (when did my baby learn to talk?)
Haddie- "Mama, can boys have babies?"
Me- "Nope, just girls."
Haddie- "Good."
Yep, I did it. I made my front and back doors all matchy matchy.
